The Health Services union has accused the NSW government of stalling pay negotiations with essential workers when it “should be a priority”, says Health Services Union NSW Secretary Gerard Hayes.
“We’ve seen over the past particularly three years – health care workers have seen a 3 per cent increase last year, 0.3 of a per cent increase the year before,” Mr Hayes told Sky News Australia.
“So what that effectively means for a cleaner is probably about 141 dollars a year or something in the vicinity of 20 odd cups of coffee.“There is a perfect storm that we’re currently in and we need to be doing things better.”
