A trial of average speed cameras will roll out on two deadly stretches of regional NSW roads and is a step toward bringing NSW into line with other states who use the technology to police speeding.

Drivers in NSW will be tracked by point-to-point speed cameras in a bid to catch motorists doing the wrong thing as the government moves to reduce the number of people dying on the state’s roads.

One trial location will be on a 15-kilometre stretch of the Pacific Highway between Kew and Lake Innes near Port Macquarie. The other will be in the Riverina, along 16 kilometres of the Hume Highway between Coolac and Gundagai.
