PICS | NSRI rescues dolphin found beached in shallow water in Gqeberha
It is believed the dolphin may have had a scuffle with a shark.A bottle-nose dolphin found beached in shallow surf in Sardinia Bay, Gqeberha, was rescued during a dramatic daytime rescue operation on Saturday.
NSRI spokesperson Craig Lambinon said the dolphin was transported to the NSRI Gqeberha rescue station. Lambinon said they were directed by members of the public to a 23-year-old man who was in the breaking surf line. "We believe that, while swim training, he had been caught in strong rip currents that prevented him from getting back to shore," said Lambinon. We live in a world where facts and fiction get blurred
