NSPCA urges public to report pit bull owners who are not following the law
Since City Press reported that people were starting to surrender their pit bulls last Thursday, there have been at least three reported attacks.
“Every animal that is brought to the SPCA is assessed by the relevant person appointed to do so at that SPCA. A decision is then made in the best interests of each animal,” NSPCA spokesperson Keshvi Nair says. The foundation said it was waiting for the department to give it a date and called for government to “protect the future leaders of this country”. “Though it won’t bring back the little one, we are calling on law enforcement agencies to leave no stone unturned in ensuring the owner of the dog is held to account.
