the committee has raised in the month of May during an election year. The record comes after the NRCC raised more than $1 million from small-dollar donors in the days following Trump’s guilty verdict in his hush-money trial in New York last month.
“Growing the majority is a team effort, and we smashed this fundraising record with the help of everyday Americans and our incredible leadership team,” NRCC Chairman Richard Hudson said in a statement. “Families don’t feel physically or financially secure with extremerunning the country; they’re opening up their wallets to ensure there is no chance Democrats continue to wreak havoc on their daily lives next year.
The significant haul for the NRCC comes as Trump and other Republican groups have reported massive fundraising numbers for the month of May, which could help the former president close the gap with President House Speaker Mike Johnson said his fundraising platforms had also brought in record-high figures following Trump’s conviction, arguing it has sparked “backlash” among voters who view the verdict as politically motivated.
