The Porch reopens March 6, 2023, with your favorite menu items still on the list.
. Cocktails at The Porch range from “no proof” to “low proof” to spiked iced teas and full-booze cocktails.And like everybody seems to be doing, The Porch is putting a focus on its martinis. Here, it’s half-price martinis all day on Tuesdays, from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
As for the food, when we asked Coner Seargeant, director of culinary and concepts for Headington, what was kicked off the menu, his answer was “not a lot.” A section of “classics” lists favorites like Beef Stroganoff. Throughout the menu, the Famous Spinach Parmesan Dip, Roasted Tomato Soup, Four-Cheese Grilled Cheese and Smoked Mac and Cheese have returned.It’s a take-your-mom kind of place. And Seargeant does.
Wheelhouse favorites abound on The Porch’s menu, with Trout Dip, Brisket Tacos and Standard Burger — a double double with “fancy sauce” on a poppy seed bun. That burger replaced The Porch’s Stodg, a cheeseburger with bacon and a fried egg that seemed too over-the-top in the new rendition of the restaurant.
The Porch also got a new porch, but that’s not the most noteworthy piece of its exterior. It has a new beer garden on the side of the building, facing Tei Tei Robata Bar. It’s that sliver of pavement you’d use if you parked behind the building or walked over from the M Streets and probably wondered, “am I in the right place?”One of the best desserts at the new, redone Porch in Dallas is the black and white brownie.
