Now, Kadir Jasin says Bersatu’s top leadership never agreed to back Muhyiddin as PM

Kadir, also a member of the council, said Muhyiddin’s nomination by Bersatu’s 25 MPs was done without the consent of the party’s top leadership. “The last decision the MPT made during Monday’s meeting was to affirm its support for Tun Dr Mahathir to remain as prime minister,” he said in a statement. If true, Kadir’s claim suggests a division within Bersatu which until this evening indicated its willingness to forge an alliance with rivals Umno and PAS.
