9,000 people took part in last year's event
The theme of Nottinghamshire Pride 2024 is the power of love. This year's route through the heart of Nottingham has the same starting point in Lister Gate on Saturday July 27 but the end point will switch to another part of the city.
Leigh Ellis, who chairs Nottinghamshire Pride, said the decision led to the Labour-run city council being dubbed the 'Loony Left" in national headlines. Schools dropped children's swimming lessons while pool attendants boycotted the sessions. Mr Ellis said: "We are making the correlation between what really has changed. Although equalities have changed, what has changed in terms of how people feel?
