It was the 24-year-old’s injury sustained during the Tranmere Rovers game at the weekend that forced the team to end the game with 10 men
Notts County have revealed the unfortunate news of Cedwyn Scott's injury which they have said will rule him out “for the foreseeable future”, confirmed by scans this week. , with Scott having been one of the maximum five substitutes used by Luke Williams at that point.
Scott has primarily been used as a backup forward in the league so far this season but has remained a key part of Williams’ plans after netting the penalty in the National League play-off final that took Notts back up to the EFL, so confirmation of the injury’s severity is not welcome news. “Then we can start to make a plan moving forward and hope there are no bumps in the road with that and once that is in place we’ll have a much clearer idea of when he will be back in a few week's time when we’ve got through some of the tough stuff in the beginning.
While news of one player bowing out with injury is upsetting, it always provides an opportunity for someone else to step up who perhaps has not had the chance, Williams highlighted Junior Morias as a player who could step up in Scott’s absence.
