Nottingham Forest-linked midfielder Guido Rodriguez has admitted he came close to leaving Real Betis in the summer.
Rodriguez is in the final year of his contract with Betis. It is said he didn’t want to leave the club because his wife is pregnant, while talks have been held over a new deal. When her husband said it was a matter they couldn’t discuss, she said to Rodriguez: “But you signed, didn’t you?”
“Life is good here, we are well on the team, we have a good group… I think the baby will be born here, by the end of February or beginning of March, we will have a Sevillian.”
