Latest Nottingham Forest news as Reds defender Harry Toffolo discusses Premier League draw with Brentford
Nottingham Forest defender Harry Toffolo says having a consistent and steady mindset has helped him navigate a “tough” period.
He went on to make some important contributions at the other end of the pitch, too, in a solid display which will have given head coach Steve Cooper food for thought when it comes to his team selection for this weekend’s trip to Crystal Palace. Toffolo has had to wait for his opportunity, but he ensured he was in a position to grasp it with both hands when it came.
“Putting yourself in a position where you come into a game and you are not prepared is something you don’t want to do as a football player. It’s definitely important to make sure you are at it every single day. It’s a lesson to anyone - that if you are out of it, there is always light at the end of the tunnel.”
“But my thing is always going back to day-to-day. Whether it’s on the pitch or off the pitch, whether I’m being dad or being a professional footballer, it’s always day-to-day. You can always get through it. “I’m a very family-oriented man. I spend a lot of time with the kids. Ultimately, I pride myself on being a good father before a footballer.”
