"It's going to be a party, and we're going to have a good time cheering on the Irish," Bar owner Conor Dempsey said."People are shocked there's a Notre Dame bar in Columbus, right in the heart of downtown Columbus," he said. "People are very appreciative of it because being in Columbus, it's always Buckeye this and Buckeye that. It's good to watch a game with like-minded people cheering on Notre Dame. It's really special.
Mark Hissom, founder of the Notre Dame Fan Club of Columbus, expressed his excitement for the upcoming game.Despite Ohio State's 6-2 record against Notre Dame, with the Fighting Irish's wins dating back to before World War II, Hissom believes this year could be different. "One thing that Ohio State doesn't have that we do is Marcus Freeman, and Marcus Freeman has changed the culture of the team," he said.
As the game approaches, fans at Dempsey's are ready to bring plenty of excitement and add a local twist to this heavyweight college football matchup.
