Cowboys superstar Valentine Holmes has opened up on his exit from the club, revealing salary cap considerations played a significant role in his departure.
“This is home for me. It’s where I get to play in front of my parents and wife’s parents and family,” he said. The Maroons representative stated he didn’t want “the club to lose five or six blokes just to try and keep one bloke.” Holmes, who finished 2024 as the NRL’s top points scorer with 246, professed he would “love” to win a competition at the club this season, in what will also be the final year of Kyle Feldt and Jake Granville’s storied careers at the club.
