Nothing, which made a name for itself with uniquely designed gadgets featuring transparent aesthetics, has introduced a new pair of wireless earbuds with a notable feature that you don't see on other headphones.
Dubbed Audio Snapshot, the feature is described as a screenshot for sound, capturing whatever you're listening to at the moment, including music and podcasts. It can record up to a minute of audio, including 30 seconds played before you triggered it, thanks to built-in 32MB of flash storage. The Audio Snapshot feature is triggered with a simultaneous pinch of both earbuds, and recordings automatically sync to the Nothing X app for editing, replay, transcription, or creating shareable quotes.
While headphones with built-in storage are not new, Nothing is pioneering the ability to record playback directly. Additionally, the earbuds can record calls and meetings using six integrated microphones, useful for phones without official call recording support. Recordings can last up to two hours, with a privacy notification alert triggered during recording. All recordings sync to the Nothing X app for further processing.
The Nothing Ear 3a also features a 12mm dynamic driver, active noise cancellation, support for static spatial audio, customizable EQ, low-latency gaming mode on Nothing phones, multi-device connectivity (up to eight), and LDAC codec support for high-resolution audio. Battery life is up to six hours with ANC and ten hours without, with the case providing up to 25 hours total with ANC and 42 hours without.
The earbuds retain the transparent design and come in four color options, including a bright raspberry pink, with four ear tip sizes included. Both earbuds and case are IP54 rated for dust and water resistance
