Celine Dion has opened up about living with the rare neurological condition stiff person syndrome, saying, “nothing is going to stop me.”
Speaking to Vogue France in an interview published Monday, the Canadian-born singer said she was, “well, but it’s a lot of work,” adding: “I’m taking it one day at a time.” The Grammy winner admitted she is hoping for a “miracle” cure for the condition which has affected her singing and day-to-day life, but said that she is working on accepting the situation.
Either I train like an athlete and work super hard, or I switch off and it’s over, I stay at home, listen to my songs, stand in front of my mirror and sing to myself. I’ve chosen to work with all my body and soul, from head to toe, with a medical team. I want to be the best I can be. My goal is to see the Eiffel Tower again.” It is the love of those closest to her and her fans, as well as top medical care, that has helped her the most, she said.
