All my queer friends, whether they’re trans or not, have had wildly different reactions from their families when they came out. It was such a positive thing for me and it’s hard to hear that some peoples’ families think they don’t know who they are until they’re 18, or some are out to parents but not their younger siblings.I have friends whose parents know they’re trans but won’t acknowledge it. That’s the one that makes me angry because it was such a relief for me.
