“I think he’s more anxious than I am,” coach Brian Dutcher said. “I want him healthy more than anything. If you’re going to be injured, this is the time to be injured. Take all the time in the world. We’ve got two months to get him ready. “Just taking my time, being cautious,” said Boyd, who insists this injury isn’t as severe. “I sprained it really bad this summer, got some X-rays on it and it looks good. I’m just not rushing it because I have prior history with my ankles.”for two reasons. The other is for his innate leadership skills on an Aztecs roster that lost its entire starting five.
“I was disappointed. I was hoping he’d get more minutes to show what he can do,” Dutcher said. “But obviously, they’ve seen enough in him where they’re having him back to training camp and he’ll have an opportunity. That’s a positive. You’ve got to get to a training camp to have a chance, and he’s in a training camp.”
LeDee is on an Exhibit 10 contract, a one-year unguaranteed deal that can be converted into a two-way contract that allows a player to bounce between the senior NBA club and its G League affiliate. The most likely starting destination for LeDee is the Timberwolves’ G League team, the Iowa Wolves in Des Moines.“My dream is to be in the NBA,” LeDee said. “I’m this close. I’m more than capable. I’m going to stick to the journey.
