Kinuwestiyon ni Sen. Cynthia Villar ang posibilidad ng panukala ni Sen. Pia Cayetano na maglagay ng mga 'pop-up bike lanes' ngayong panahon ng COVID19 pandemic.
MANILA - Sen. Cynthia Villar on Monday questioned the feasibility of Sen. Pia Cayetano's proposal to put up "pop-up bike lanes" during the coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic, saying some roads may not be wide enough to have a separate lane for bicycles.
"We have to face reality that our roads are not perfect. We don't have enough space," said Villar, whose son Mark heads the Department of Public Works and Highways. "There are ways to go about it and at some point there will be no exclusive lane [for bicycles] because it is just impossible," said Cayetano, a triathlete and biking enthusiast.
"If you make it so vague and you don't require them to do anything, then there's no implementation. That's the problem," she said.
