PETALING JAYA: The 57 Olympics hopefuls allowed to train again at three major venues around the country will have to pay a price for the privileges – they will lose their freedom to move around freely.

The government gave the green light to 57 Road to Tokyo athletes to undergo centralised training in Bukit Jalil Sports Complex, Academy Badminton Malaysia in Bukit Kiara and National Sailing Centre in Langkawi.

All the athletes will have to be prepared to forgo meeting family members or socialising with friends until June 30. The athletes have been confined to training at home since the movement control order started on March 18.“I feel it is a very good initiative made by the National Sports Council and National Sports Institute to get us to adapt to this new training environment.“We would normally see our family when we are off.
