Warm dead stars have a larger radius and weaker gravity compared to cool dead stars, find out why it is so.
A new study has found that temperature variations in the outer gaseous layers keep the size of the star balanced against gravity. This balance ensures that white dwarfs maintain their structure.About four years ago, a team of researchers surveyed 3,000 dead stars and discovered that stars accumulate mass when they shrink. Now, a new study from the same team takes into account 26,000 dead stars, also known as white dwarfs .
Researchers then studied the motions of white dwarfs relative to Earth and placed them in groups as per their gravity and size. This allowed them to check how temperature affected the size of different dead stars.
