Norwegian Crown Princess Mette-Marit's son, Marius Borg Hoiby, was arrested on suspicion of rape three months after he was arrested for attacking a woman
Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway’s eldest son, Marius Borg Høiby, is once again in legal trouble.
The alleged victim’s lawyer, Hege Salomon, told CNN that she is a woman in her 20s who did not know the Crown Princess’ son prior to meeting him on Monday. Marius, who was arrested late on Monday near the Skaugum royal estate, has denied the allegations. Marius issued a public apology later that month. “Last weekend something happened that should never have happened,” he said in a statement to the Norwegian outlet Se og Hør on August 15. “I committed bodily harm and destroyed objects in an apartment in the intoxication of alcohol and cocaine after an argument.”
He concluded his statement by apologizing to his family, saying, “I know that my actions have greatly affected you. So to you, my love, I'm sorry. This should never have happened and I take full responsibility for my actions.”
