WAYNE COUNTY , Ohio - Northwestern Local Schools are on a soft lockdown due to a nearby crime scene in Wayne County . The Ohio State Highway Patrol confirmed troopers are assisting Wayne County Sheriff’s Office deputies at the scene.
Details of the late Tuesday morning incident have yet to be released. The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation has not been requested to investigate this incident at this time. We want to inform you that Northwestern Local Schools is currently in a soft lockdown due to a situation in the community. At this time, all students and staff are safe.
Out of an abundance of caution, access to and from our school buildings is temporarily restricted. We are actively working with the Sheriff’s Department and following their guidance. We will continue to monitor the situation closely and will provide updates as soon as more information becomes available and the situation is resolved.
