UPDATE: 2 shot at beach near Northwestern campus, with students urged to shelter in place
Northwestern University officials have issued a shelter-in-place order for their Evanston campus after two people were shot at Clark Street Beach Wednesday night.
The shooting was reported at the beach, located in the 1800 block of North Sheridan Road near the school’s Evanston campus. Officials at the school say that suspects fled north toward the campus, and posted to social media asking students and faculty to shelter in place. Police are responding to shots fired at Clark St. Beach just south of Evanston campus. Suspects fled north toward campus. Shelter in place until further notice.
