Northwest Vista College has been named a finalist for the 2025 Aspen Prize for Community College Excellence . The winner, to be announced in the spring of 2025, will get bragging rights and a $1 million award. The college is one of five in the Alamo Colleges District , whose near-downtown campus, San Antonio College , won the prize in 2021. The Aspen Institute included Northwest Vista on a short list of 10 colleges, down from 20 semifinalists named in May.
