The Aurora could be visible in Canada and some of the U.S. on Monday night
Stargazers in Canada and parts of the United States could catch a glimpse of the Northern Lights tonight amid a huge solar storm.The Aurora could be visible in Canada and Alaska, as well as other U.S. states, including Montana, North Dakota and Minnesota, and possibly parts of Idaho and Washington on Monday night, according to the Space Weather Prediction Center, with the lights strongest in Canada.The lights will weaken on Tuesday night and will only be visible in Canada and Alaska.
They were also visible across the United Kingdom, Germany and Italy, and even northern India, with millions of people around the world snapping the cosmic phenomenon on their phones.The northern and southern lights can be triggered by geomagnetic storms, which are disruptions to the Earth's magnetic field caused by coronal mass ejections of solar plasma from the sun.
