High winds are likely for areas of the Alaska Peninsula into the evening hours.
ANCHORAGE, Alaska - Temperatures across the state are noticeably chiller, as colder weather continues to spread south. Many areas across the state are nearly 5 to 25 degrees colder than Wednesday morning, with even colder conditions expected into the weekend. While much of Mainland Alaska is set to see quieter weather to close out the week, coastal activity will remain. An area of low pressure near the Alaska Peninsula is leading to high winds, rain and areas of snow.
Be prepared for even colder weather to arrive into the weekend, as afternoon highs drop near freezing and overnight lows in the 10s and 20s.Light rain and breezy winds to be expected today, with areas of the Klondike Highway near White Pass seeing some additional snow throughout the day. Temperatures will be warm enough at sea level, that all rain will fall throughout the day. Less than half an inch is to be expected for most locations, with highs today warming into the 40s.
