If a call is answered, she recommends obtaining a callback number, ending the conversation, and taking time to assess the situation. Dilworth emphasizes the urgency scammers employ to pressure victims into making quick decisions without proper consideration. Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost encourages victims to report scams, assuring them that seeking justice will not reflect negatively on their ability to live independently. He acknowledges the shame and fear that prevent some victims from coming forward and vows to protect them. Dilworth stresses the importance of reporting scams to aid in preventing future incidents and potentially assist victims. Willis, a Community Outreach Coordinator with the Western Reserve Area Agency on Aging (WRAAA), plays an active role in educating seniors about scams.
