Northeast Ohio roads are experiencing hazardous conditions with a mix of rain, snow, and ice on Saturday afternoon. The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) has deployed over 200 snow plows to treat the roads and advises residents to stay off the roads if possible.
CLEVELAND, Ohio - Northeast Ohio roads have a mix of rain, snow and ice on the ground Saturday afternoon on a First Alert Weather Day.
Cameras from the Ohio Department of Transportation caught crashes across Northeast Ohio, including on I-71 and I-480 beginning around 3:30 p.m. These are NOT the views you like to see on traffic cameras. Very icy conditions in the Cleveland metro area at the moment. CheckWinter Weather advisories have been issued in Ashland, Cuyahoga, Erie, Holmes, Huron, Lorain, Medina, Portage, Richland, Stark, Summit, and Wayne counties.
“With it being kind of a mixed bag of precipitation we’ve got over 200 snow plows operating right now in Northeast Ohio with a few more expected to join as we get a little further into the afternoon and evening hours,” said Amanda McFarland with ODOT. “They’re just going to be out there treating the roadways as necessary. Once the precipitation reaches their respective territories.
