The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to plan for northbound Interstate 17 to be closed for pavement work between Northern Avenue and Thunderbird Road fromThe northbound I-17 on-ramps at Glendale Avenue and Bethany Home RoadNorthbound SR 51 to westbound Loop 101 is an alternate freeway route while northbound I-17 is closed. Drivers also may consider exiting ahead of the closure and using northbound 19th or 35th avenues to connect with I-17 beyond the closure.
