Tens of thousands of people returned to the Racecourse for a weekend of fun!
Thousands returned to Northampton over the weekend to enjoy the popular Balloon Festival that was back after four years. Despite some questionable weather, the event returned to the Racecourse on Kettering road between Friday and Sunday .
The festival, which first took place back in 1989, returned after a four-year hiatus and reportedly around 65,000 people attended the event. Windy weather on Friday and Saturday meant the balloons were unable to fly - however Sunday the skies were filled with beautiful, colourful balloons captured by many festival-goers.
The balloons weren't the only entertainment however as families were able to enjoy various live stunt displays involving motorbikes, an American Civil War reenactment, an extreme equine stunt act and much more. On Sunday tens of balloons took to the sky which you can see below. Even with the poor weather conditions, festival-goers said how fun the weekend was and many are already looking forward to the next. Did you capture any pictures from the balloon festival?
