They have since expired, and things are now drying out.Just before midnight Wednesday, Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport recorded 2.8 inches of rain, setting a new daily record for Jan. 29. By Thursday, the total had risen to 4.13 inches—nearly an inch and a half more than at midnight. The rainfall total for the month of January now sits at 5.69 inches.High water was reported in areas across the metroplex, including near White Rock Lake.Dallas Fire-Rescue was called around 3 a.m. to Goforth Drive and Eagle Trail after a funeral home minivan got stuck in flooded waters.When emergency crews arrived, they found water up to the van’s windows. First responders safely removed the driver and a passenger, but the two bodies inside remained.As the water receded, crews were able to walk to the van, attach a tow cable, and pull it to dry land. The bodies were then transferred to another vehicle.Rain is expected to clear by noon, with skies gradually clearing from west to east. By the afternoon, North Texas will see partly to mostly sunny skies, with highs in the mid-to-upper 60s.Temperatures will remain in the mid-60s Friday before a warming trend takes hold. Highs will reach the low 70s Saturday, mid-70s Sunday, and could approach 80 degrees by noon Monday. A cool down is expected by Tuesday.
