In light of the recent shooting in Uvalde, police in North Texas are preparing for possible future active shooter situations in their area.
PUBLISHED 4:32 PM CDT Jul. 29, 2022WHITE SETTLEMENT, Texas — Multiple agencies in Tarrant County took part in a week-long active shooter training with the NCIS Regional Enforcement Action Capabilities Team [REACT Team] in White Settlement.
. “Officers are trained to listen to those sounds [gunfire] and confront, really the evil as I refer to it.”on the Uvalde school shooting. Many parents contacted Chief Cook days after the shooting with concern for their child’s safety at school. Officers were not given much information about the scenarios they were walking into, and they had to decipher in real time their plan of action.
