Headteachers from schools across the area have recently taken part in an LGBT Inclusive Education development session delivered by Time for Inclusive Education (TIE).
North Lanarkshire Council is supporting teachers and school staff in completing the national professional learning course on LGBT Inclusive Education .
All learners can witness or experience this prejudice at school, particularly those who are LGBT themselves, those who have LGBT family members, and those who do not conform to gender stereotypes or norms. North Lanarkshire Provost Kenneth Duffy said: “Ensuring that our schools are inclusive and supportive environments for all pupils is a priority. A TIE spokesperson said “This session was an important step forward for school headteachers and senior leaders from across North Lanarkshire.
