Lt. Gov. markrobinsonNC had among the first breakout moments of a gathering of conservative activists on Friday when he publicly endorsed Donald Trump for president in 2024. Robinson argued the nation needs a 'fighter' who will lead the country.
Robinson argued the nation needs a"fighter" who will lead the country into the future and on the world stage."That is why on this stage today, I'm endorsing Donald J. Trump as the president of the United States of America in 2024," he said during his speaking slot at the Faith & Freedom Coalition's Road to Majority Conference in Washington, D.C. His announcement was met with roaring praise, the loudest of the conference so far.
The Road to Majority conference features speeches from most of the 2024 GOP presidential field. But those candidates will have a hard time overcoming the sway the former president continues to have over the primary electorate. An outspoken conservative, Robinson went on to condemn illegal immigration, Russia, and China during his speech. He also urged lawmakers to return to an"America First" ideology.
Robinson previously announced he is running in North Carolina's gubernatorial election in April. Trump has already pledged to endorse Robinson, helping his bid in the GOP primary.
