Now you can shoe shop and drink at the same time.
It's like something out of Carrie Bradshaw's dreams: In one direction, tables filled with heels, boots, flats, and sneakers. In the other, a neon cocktail sign hanging over a full service bar where you can order a glass of wine before trying on shoes. The"Husband Daycare" drink was practically made with a bored Mr. Big in mind. You can find this magical oasis inside New York City's first Nordstrom, opening on 57th and Broadway on October 24.
Since this long-awaited seven-story NYC flagship is as much about the food as it is the clothes—according to the company, one in four transactions come from food and bev—Delish got to take a look at the seven restaurants and bars inside the store before opening day. There's Shoe Bar, of course, situated on the first lower level on the shoe floor.
Then there's the Jeannie's, Hani Pacific, Oh Mochi trifecta lined up next to one another on the second lower level. All helmed by Seattle-based Chef Tom Douglas, these three will compete for your lunchtime affection. Jeannie's serves up wood-fired pizza, pasta, and salads, while Hani Pacific features food inspired by dishes from Asia, Hawaii, LA, and the Pacific Northwest. Oh Mochi offers gluten-free mochi donuts baked in-house.
Upstairs, you can order a full meal or happy hour drinks and snacks at Wolf, led by Chef Ethan Stowell, who is also from Seattle . The Pacific Northwest-inspired menu is full of fish like King Salmon and King Crab, as well as pasta and fresh veggies.
The coolest part? Should you find yourself craving those tacos, or, say, a martini, but not wanting to sit down for a full meal, Nordstrom will deliver food and drinks to you within the store—just ask a salesperson and they'll handle the transaction. Excuse me while I move in!
