NorCal softball regionals: St. Francis softball shakes off rough start and advances to the second round
MOUNTAIN VIEW – One error plus a wild pitch equaled an unhappy head coach to start St. Francis’ softball game against San Ramon Valley.
The Mountain View school went on to run-rule SRV 10-0 in five innings and advanced to the second round of NorCal Division I play, where the defending champions will host Central-Fresno. St. Francis took advantage of a Jaime Oakland single and an error to set up slugger Rebecca Quinn, who drove in the run on the groundout in the bottom of the first.
After the final out, O’Gorman made it clear that St. Francis’ dream run to a second consecutive NorCal crown would involve a rubber match at Hollister in the final.
