NORAD ’s Santa Tracker , a beloved tradition spanning decades, returns on Christmas Eve for its 69th year, allowing people to virtually follow Santa Claus as he delivers gifts worldwide. NORAD begins tracking Santa’s movements around 4 a.m. EST on Christmas Eve through its website and app. Starting at 6 a.m. EST, operators stand by to answer children’s calls about Santa’s whereabouts. LiveNOW from FOX will host a three-hour special, 'Track Santa Now,' beginning at 9 p.m. EST on Christmas Eve. The special will feature interviews with NORAD officials, holiday updates, and a live look at Santa’s location. Viewers will also receive live updates from Santa himself. Another special guest, who may have a heart two sizes too small, is rumored to make an appearance. The special will also include other holiday favorites, such as a visit to a poinsettia farm, a journey with Trans-Siberian Orchestra, and a look at the world-famous decorations in Dyker Heights, Brooklyn. NORAD tracks Santa’s location, but only Santa knows his exact route. NORAD can’t predict when Santa will arrive at your house, and remember, he’ll only stop at houses where children are asleep. In most countries, Santa arrives between 9 p.m. and midnight on Christmas Eve, but if children are still awake, he’ll move on to other homes and return when they are asleep.
