Nor Yati Ahmad mula menyertai sektor awam pada 1995 sebagai akauntan di Jabatan Akauntan Negara cawangan Kuala Lumpur.

Pelantikan Nor Yati diumumkan Jabatan Akauntan Negara dalam kenyataan hari ini bagi menggantikan Yacob Mustafa yang tamat kontrak perkhidmatan pada 2 Ogos lalu. Surat pelantikan Nor Yati sebagai akauntan negara disampaikan Ketua Pengarah Perkhidmatan Awam Zulkapli Mohamed di Jabatan Perkhidmatan Awam.
