Noncommissioned Officers Academy at Fort Novosel hosts run for soldier’s son who was diagnosed with cancer
Before the sun came up, members of the noncommissioned Officer Academy were ready to run for a good cause.“It came about because I brought up to the commandant, Sergeant Major Perez, that my nephew has cancer and is at UAB, and he felt like he should do more and needed to do more, and the least he could do was honor him through his commandants tun that he does every cycle,” Jasmyn Vecchione, Joseph’s aunt, said.
“My mom worked on Fort Rucker, now Fort Novosel, so this has always been home coming through the gate. The welcome home has always been something that meant a lot to us,” Vecchione said.
