Noel Gallagher pays tribute to the Manchester landmarks he loves as new album released
Noel Gallagher has celebrated a selection of Manchester landmarks he loves with the release of his latest album.
The images - taken by renowned Manchester-born music photographer Kevin Cummins - are said by Noel's people to be of places that have 'significant meaning' to the 56-year-old. Council Skies was recorded at Noel's own Lone Star Sound Recording Studios in London, with the album's orchestrated strings laid down at the legendary Abbey Road Studios.
Noel said of the album: "It's going back to the beginning. Daydreaming, looking up at the sky and wondering about what life could be… that's as true to me now as it was in the early 90s. Cummins goes on to capture locations poignant to Noel’s formative years - culminating with a striking image of Manchester's Piccadilly railway station conceived to mark the moment Noel left his home city for London.
