A new Meijer is planned on Noblesville's west side.
The company said the 90,000-square foot building will begin construction in 2023. On the southeast corner of the intersection, a $72 million development of businesses and homes named Midland Pointe is being built. The project by Secure Holdings LLC and Old Town Companies, will have 40,000 square feet of space for retail and 249 townhouses and stacked flats. Midland Pointe is along the Midland Trace Trail, which will connect to the Federal Hill Common and thea mixed-use development of 220 apartments, a coffee shop, restaurant, office space, and a parking garage. But the city council recently turned away a plan for 120 townhouses on the southwest corner of SR 32 and Hazel Dell Road, saying it didn’t fit long-term plans development along the Midland Trace.
Dubois said there was “a lot of interest” by developers in the site but the city wants to make sure it has the right balance of residential density and businesses. Most of Noblesville’s undeveloped land is on the east side in Wayne Township, nearly 35 square miles. As development moves into the township and the city extends sewer and gas connections, it can be expected to annex it a parcel at a time.
