The venue announced via X that the decision was made to prioritize safety, leading to a delayed door opening and eventual cancellation. Kahan addressed the frustration during his second show at Citi Field on Sunday, July 19, expressing deep remorse for fans who waited in the rain and traveled for the event. He emphasized that in his nine years of touring and approximately 500 shows, he has only canceled six times, and only when absolutely necessary.
He also explained the challenges of rescheduling, stating that his team explored all options. Kahan, who recently played back-to-back nights at Madison Square Garden on July 15 and 16, is now preparing for his first Grammy Awards as a nominee.
