No, the San Antonio Police Department is not looking for 'volunteer drinkers'

Police said the SAPD Training Academy is looking into the matter for potential disciplinary action and the fact sheet, shared with cadets, was to be distributed among family and friends.
The original call-out, which lists the location as the San Antonio Police Department Training Academy and asks for volunteers between the ages of 21 and 65 without a history of alcoholism, said volunteers"must be willing to perform sobriety tests carried out by police cadets."New restaurant near Pearl, plans to convert former CPS office to hotel get approval from city panel "Volunteers will be given four drinks of 80-proof liquor of your choice in order to achieve a blood alcohol concentration between 0.06 and 0.14," police wrote in the call-out. Police wrote that volunteers should not eat anything for three hours prior to the exercise and that food would be provided along with the free drinks. Police also wrote that driving for volunteers must be provided and that volunteers would not be allowed to drive following the exercise. The call-out also says that ride shares would not be allowed following the exercise. "SAPD cadets, as part of their curriculum, are exposed to real-life scenarios in a controlled environment," SAPD officials wrote."This exercise will allow cadets the opportunity to perform Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, observing first-hand the different clues of intoxication."
