Despite an upset loss to Arizona that ended UCLA’s CFP longshot chances, there’s still plenty to play for as rivalry game approaches.

LOS ANGELES — When asked what his motivation to beat USC on Saturday is, UCLA football coach Chip Kelly offered some of his signature sarcasm:After the laughter at the Monday morning media availability subsided, Kelly offered a more serious response. He emphasized that UCLA wants to be successful in everything it does and that intrinsic motivation gets his team fired up for any opponent, especially a crosstown rival.

“We hate those guys across town,” quarterback Dorian-Thompson Robinson said, who coincidentally goes to the same massage therapist as USC quarterback Caleb Williams. Thompson-Robinson’s family and many other families will be in attendance, but this one will mean a little bit more to offensive lineman Jon Gaines II.
