PUTRAJAYA: There have been no reports of Malaysians returning from abroad violating their home quarantine order, says Senior Minister (Security) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
He said so far there have been no incidents of individuals caught outside their homes when they are supposed to be under quarantine.
“We have not received any negative reports on those observing home quarantine. I am made to understand that the police and Health Ministry officials conduct spot checks on them to ensure compliance.Ismail said he hopes those who have been asked to observe a quarantine continue to comply with the directive.
“Don’t look at it as if we are forcing something on you, but view it as you taking care of your own health and taking care of your family and society, ” he said. The government has now allowed Malaysians returning from overseas to be quarantined at home for 14 days instead of at gazetted facilities.Of the figure, 5,067 individuals were ordered to be quarantined at home while 26 people, who were found to be Covid-19 positive, were sent to the hospital for treatment.Article type: metered
