Temple committee chairman A. He explained that the ceremony was held on the morning of March 8 and that they could not have stopped devotees and festival-goers from joining the celebration. Meanwhile, the Penang Hindu Endowment Board advised all temples in the state to suspend or cancel any public gathering events in the state.“However, temples in the state may continue their daily activities while taking precautionary measures such as checking visitors’ temperature and also providing hand sanitisers.
“The temples are also encouraged to spread awareness on Covid-19 and cleanliness," he said, adding that this was to help in preventing virus transmission.
