I am a digital health product leader with a specialized background in applied behavioral science. I’ve been working in the health space for 15+ years, crafting digital tools through scientifically informed product design to help people make better health decisions.

Compared to the exhaustion of a weekend with young kids, the work week is a welcome respite for Alex Streid, Chief Product Officer of Cerebral . Alex says she is a mom first, but it’s clear that her thoughtfulness shines through to her work. At WeightWatchers, Ellevest, and now Cerebral , Alex works to help people reach their goals — whether it is eating well, investing, or taking care of their mental health .

So, for example, we’ve made it really easy for a user to schedule their first appointment. We don’t have them schedule ongoing appointments or do any upfront assessments, because they can do that later when talking to their therapist. We just want them to do the smallest, most important thing first, which is schedule their first appointment. As a result, we see folks scheduling and completing more visits.

For example, one of the top reasons our clients miss their therapy sessions is because they slept through it. As a product leader, I need to keep that in mind so that I can design a product that helps them get the treatment they need. Behavioral insights can help product strategists design for the complex, multifaceted lives of their users.
