Andy (Ed Helms) in The Office
Will the ‘Nard Dog rise again in The Office sequel series The Paper? Ed Helms isn’t quite certain one way or the other, but he remains hopeful. While swinging by The View , the actor faced questions about his potential return to the Greg Daniels-developed universe that once gave us the many different and entertaining personalities in the NBC hit series.
“I have zero intel on that, I’m sorry to say,” Helms told the hosts of the daytime series. Manifesting the energetic, harmony-creating character’s return, Helms said that he “hopes” the creative team will find some space for Andy, adding, “I’m just gonna float that energy out there right now.” Whether or not he makes an appearance in The Paper, Helms remains certain that the series will be a hit for Peacock, pouring all his faith into Daniels, who developed the original series from its U.K. roots and serves as the co-creator of the off-shoot. What We Know So Far About ‘The Paper’ Close Since The Office bid audiences adieu back in 2013, audiences have been asking for a reboot, a follow-up, really anything that will bring us back to the good ol’ days of Michael Scott and the rest of the Dunder Mifflin team. Over two years ago, the rumor mill began churning that a reboot was in the works, a speculation that was quickly shut down. Instead, it was revealed that a follow-up series was on the way, which came as a sigh of relief to many who worried that a reboot would besmirch the good name of the beloved series. So far, we know that the series , will be titled The Paper and will follow the struggling employees at a dying Midwestern newspaper who are desperately trying to keep the doors open. The production will be led by Domhnall Gleeson and Sabrina Impacciatore . While Helms’ return as Andy Bernard might be up in the air, we know for a fact that Oscar Nuñez will reprise his role as Oscar Martinez. As of right now, The Paper hasn’t set a premiere date, but stay tuned to Collider for more updates as they roll off the press.
