PETALING JAYA: The Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) have no plans to engage a medical officer from the National Sports Institute (NSI) to accompany their shuttlers to the All-England from March 11-15 despite the worsening Covid-19 outbreak.
BAM secretary Datuk Kenny Goh is convinced that the support services provided by tournament organisers would be adequate to safeguard the health of all players and officials involved in the US$1.1mil prestigious meet at the Birmingham Arena.
“They have assured all the participating teams that a number of precautionary measures will be taken to minimise the impact. Aaron-Wooi Yik and Soon Huat-Shevon were Malaysia’s top performers last year having reached the final and semi-finals respectively.
