PETALING JAYA: From Friday (Feb 10), owners of private vehicles will no longer be required to display the vehicle licence, also known as road tax, stickers on windscreens, says Anthony Loke.
The Transport Minister said, in a statement Friday, that the move was part of digitalisation plans for the Road Transport Department for motor vehicle licences and driving licences.or the MyJPJ phone application to access digital motor vehicle licences and driving licences.
Loke added that Section 20 of the Road Transport Act, which requires that motor vehicle licences be displayed on vehicles, will no longer be enforced. "This will be done in stages, with the first phase involving individual private vehicles, including motorcycles," he said.
